English:
When the frog was young, it was a tadpole. It used to swim happily like a small fish. The frog catches its food with its tongue. Its tongue moves so fast that it can quickly catch insects.
Hindi:
जब मेंढक छोटा था, तब वह टैडपोल (छोटा बच्चा मेंढक) था। वह खुशी से एक छोटी मछली की तरह तैरता था। मेंढक अपनी जीभ से खाना पकड़ता है। उसकी जीभ इतनी तेज़ी से चलती है कि वह तुरंत कीड़े पकड़ लेता है।

I live on land and water too,
In places damp with drops of dew.
My colours match the plants and trees,
I hide so well in grass and leaves!
English:
The frog can live both on land and in water. It likes to stay in damp and wet places with drops of dew. The frog’s colour matches the green plants and trees. Because of this, it hides easily in the grass and leaves.

Stanza 4
But snakes are near, I must beware,
Or else they’ll catch me unaware!
I croak my songs, they sound so loud,

English:
But the frog is careful of snakes. It knows that snakes can attack suddenly, so it must stay alert. The frog loves to croak loudly and feels proud of its sound while sitting in the pond.
